If you are indeed interested of joining the Cold Embrace, be aware that we do accept warlocks and shadowpriests as well, but the circumstances would have to be special. They would have to conduct special tests, and probably might get killed and then to get raised again as an undead to become a more "solid part" of the embrace. With their own will intact, of course. We are not like the lich king.
For detailed information on how to enlist, you should see the "initiation"-thread in the IC forums. But to say it in the basics, intiation in the cold embrace is not an awful easy process. You cant just go "can I join your guild?" and expect an immidiate invite. Instead, you must pass through a series of trials, each of whom will become increasingly difficult as time passes(we will only become pickier and pickier) that will test your roleplaying skills. The entire process is of course IC, so you would have to find us first. Once again, for proper information on that, see the initiation-thread in the IC forums.
We obviously have a series of ranks at the embrace. Everyone is ooc:ly considered equal, and on an IC basis we are all considered as "brothers and sisters" of the embrace. But the ranks proove how powerful you are, how far you have come as a deathknight and how "worthy" you are as a fellow knight of the embrace.
There are 5 ranks(might change over time), and each rank gives you a specific item or trinket, all magical artifacts highly useful for those serving the embrace. As you gain ranks, the artifacts available to you will increase in power.
To gain a rank you need to proove yourself, ic:ly and ooc:ly. Promotion is done through a series of harsh tests, that once again will put you and your skills to the test.
Also, worthy of note is that in The Cold Embrace we consider levels somewhat relevant with combat skill, although there can be some exceptions. In either case, if you remain level 58 for eternity, you most likely wont reach the higher ranks.
When it comes to uniforms, the embrace seeks to use the two starting sets as standard. However, since the embrace is such a stealthy organisation, we do not even use our tabard in public, and we have a big series of randomly customized disguises at our knights disposal as well.
In either case, please do -not- throw away your starting kits, they are probably the best deathknight roleplaying gear available.
