The first test of initiation is the dedication test. The major point of this test is to proove that you got what it takes in self-discipline, stealth and dedication to join the embrace. It will likely involve the murder of one or several characters, and the tests will vary in difficulity depending on how many initiates there are in the group.
The point is for you to cooperate with your fellow initiates to complete the test together. During this test you will be watched, either by an "invisible ghost" or by an embrace knight that comes along to monitor you and your progress. His or hers job would in that case strictly be to monitor your progress, not to help you in any way.
Most tests are timed, which means you only have limited time to device a plan on how to achieve the objectives with maximum stealth and effectivity. If you utterly utterly fail the test, and brings alot of light and attention to your action, the embrace will obviously "dissepear" from the meeting location and if encountered deny having anything to do with you or your actions. So there is alot at stake here.
If you would really fail the test at this level due to some unfortunate accident or coincidence, then a new test can be discussed as long as a good IC excuse can be summoned.
Furthermore, another point of the test is to make sure you are not a spy of Mograine's lapdogs or of some alliance organisation. Very few undercover people are willing to brutally murder someone innocent for the sake of staying undercover, and if they are willing to do that there's a good chance their soul is too corrupted to do their job properly anyway.
This is the major test of the initiation, the test where your roleplaying abilities will come to the test. We are picky, but will of course not kick you if you make mistakes. It's only natural to make mistakes, but the point here is to make sure you and your character would fit in the embrace.
If you manage to complete it, you will hear the next bit of the story about the embrace, and then be asked for the 2'nd test.
